Munich in 3 Days

These three days in Munich take you from baroque splendour to wide park paths, from quiet church interiors to lively squares in the heart of the old town. Day 1 · Munich

Baroque and old town

The start goes big right away with Nymphenburg Palace: plenty of space, clear axes and a first impression of Munich's stately side. Afterwards the Asamkirche is far more intimate and dense, full of details you only grasp at second glance. With the Frauenkirche and Marienplatz the day ends right in the heart of the city, where wide squares and striking facades set the scene for your first old-town evening.

Day 2 · Munich

Green, open space, city life

The second day belongs to the English Garden, which instantly makes Munich feel airier and more relaxed. At the Monopteros im Englischen Garten the view opens up, and you notice how close nature and city are here. With the Eisbachwelle and the Hofgarten the mood shifts once more: first movement and curiosity, then ordered calm in one of the city's most beautiful green spaces.

Day 3 · Munich

Markets and Residenz

On the third day Munich starts from its lively side as you walk across the Viktualienmarkt and experience the bustle up close. The route then leads to the New Town Hall, where the backdrop of the centre feels especially impressive. Finally, the Munich Residence and Odeonsplatz reveal the elegant, historic side of the city, a strong finish with plenty of atmosphere.
