Day 1 · Dresden
Dresden between Art and the Elbe
To start, Dresden opens wide and green in The Grand Garden of Dresden, before the Albertinum continues in a more artful, concentrated key. Then the city opens up on Brühl's Terrace with its view and relaxed promenade mood. By the Frauenkirche Dresden at the latest, you notice how closely history, urban space and grand images sit together here.

Baroque Backdrops in Dresden
The day starts unexpectedly playful in the Kunsthofpassage Dresden and then shifts to the great stone stage of the old town. With the Cathedral St. Trinitatis and the Residenzschloss, Dresden's historic splendour condenses step by step. At the Dresden Zwinger, this sequence of facades, courtyards and symmetry reaches its impressive climax.

Leipzig's Great History
In Leipzig everything begins with a powerful opening at the Völkerschlachtdenkmal, which lifts your gaze and makes the dimensions of the city's history tangible. At the Leipzig Panometer the perspective then changes completely: instead of an overview, you dive into a 360-degree image. With the St. Nicholas Church and the Mädler-Passage, the day then becomes more urban, denser and right at the heart of Leipzig.

Leipzig between Canal and Market
To finish, Leipzig shows its more laid-back side: along the Karl-Heine-Kanal and in Plagwitz you feel how much character former industrial quarters hold. Then the route leads back with the St. Thomas Church to one of the city's defining historic places. On the Marktplatz Leipzig and finally in the Leipzig Museum of Fine Arts, the trip ends with open urban space and concentrated art.
