Mallorca in 5 Days
This route shows you Mallorca in quick, striking scenes: through bright lanes in the morning, at viewpoints above the sea at midday, later among monastery courtyards, market halls and small swimming coves. You wander Palma between art and sandstone, drive into the Tramuntana and end up where the water looks almost unreal in its clarity. Each day has a different beat, yet always that typical island feeling of light, wind and short distances between city, mountains and coast.
What makes this trip special is the mix of an urban opening, characterful mountain villages and spectacular stretches of coast. You collect not just sights but very different moods of the island – compact, varied and without long detours.
Who is this trip for?
This trip is ideal for anyone who wants to see a lot of Mallorca in a few days without just hopping from beach to beach. It suits you if you like combining cities, viewpoints, historic places and nature at a pleasantly active travel pace.
What to expect
Expect plenty of short to medium walks, plus winding drives into the mountains and along the coast. The days mix old-town strolls, culture stops and moments in nature, at a rhythm that feels dense but leaves enough room for breaks with a view.
Day 1 · Palma
Palma between art and old town
To begin, Palma shows you several faces at once: the day starts modern at the Es Baluard Museu d'Art Contemporani de Palma, with wide views over the city. Then you stroll along the Passeig des Born, where the atmosphere instantly turns more urban and elegant. With the Royal Palace of La Almudaina and the Catedral-Basílica de Santa María de Mallorca, the walk ends on a monumental note – exactly the kind of opening that leaves you wanting more of the island.

Valldemossa with wide views
Valldemossa feels calmer from the very first step, almost like slipping into another time. From the Casa Natal de Sta. Catalina Thomàs you walk on to the Mirador Valldemossa, where the landscape suddenly opens wide. Then the Palacio del Rey Sancho and the Carthusian Monastery Valldemossa give the day its historical depth – quiet, stony and very Mallorcan.

Day 3 · Sóller
Sóller with an Art Nouveau feel
In Sóller the day starts with character: Can Prunera sets an artful, slightly nostalgic tone right away. Around the Plaça de sa Constitució you then feel the lively centre of the town, before the Església de Sant Bartomeu de Sóller holds the scene strikingly together. Later, the Ferrocarril de Sóller - Estació de Sóller adds exactly the touch of travel romance that suits this valley.

Day 4 · Port de Pollença
Formentor and Port de Pollença
Today the coast turns large-scale: at the Mirador Cap de Formentor you look out over rock, sea and sky in clean lines. Afterwards the Platja de Formentor feels almost like the calm counter-move, with water right in front of pines and shore. Via the Albercutx Watchtower and the Mirador des Colomer your gaze stays up high for a long while, before things get more relaxed in Port de Pollença.

Day 5 · Santanyí, Balearic Islands, Spain
Coves in the southeast
To finish, you head for the rocky, open coast near Santanyí, where Cala s'Almunia and Caló del Moro deliver two very different but equally striking swimming stops. In Cala Figuera things then turn quieter and more village-like, with a completely different coastal mood. Later, Beach S'Amarador, Cala Mondragó and the Parc natural de Mondragó bring nature, water and paths into an especially light balance one more time.
