Dalmatia in 7 Days
This route takes you along the Dalmatian coast, where white stone, pine-covered slopes and clear water blend almost seamlessly into one another. You start in Split between Roman history and sea views, wander through Trogir's compact old town, experience the water worlds of the Krka region and add a sunny island note with Hvar. At the end, Dubrovnik awaits with its fortress, its lanes and the grand stage of its old town.
What makes this route special is the mix of city and nature: ancient squares in the morning, swim breaks in the afternoon, viewpoints at the end of the day. The stages are varied without ever feeling rushed, and they show Dalmatia from several perspectives.

This trip is ideal for anyone who wants to see a lot in one week without racing from highlight to highlight. If you enjoy old towns, coastal paths, viewpoints and short excursions into nature, this route is a particularly good fit for you.
What to expect
Expect plenty of walking, stairs in old towns and regular short climbs to viewpoints or fortresses. The rhythm is lively, with a good balance of culture, sea and relaxed moments in between.
Day 1 · Split
Split between Art and the Sea
To kick things off in Split, you start at the Meštrović Gallery for a calm, focused introduction to the city. The day then opens up in Forest Park Marjan, where pines, trails and views instantly put you in holiday mode. Later, on the Split Riva, you notice how Split finds its own rhythm: strolling, open and always close to the water.

Experiencing Roman Split
The morning starts gently at Bačvice City Beach, before the city has fully woken up. Things get livelier at the Green Market, where Split feels direct and down to earth. With Saint Domnius’ Cathedral and Diocletian's Palace, you finally dive deep into the historic heart of the city.

Trogir, Compact and Beautiful
In Trogir it's worth heading first to the Čiovo Glava viewpoint, to take in the setting between water and old town at a single glance. Then it's on to St. Lawrence’s Cathedral, whose presence immediately defines the town centre. As you wander on through Trogir Old Town, it quickly becomes clear why this place has so much atmosphere despite its compact size.

Krka: Water and Trails
Today the landscape takes centre stage, and already at Roski waterfall the raw, restless side of the Krka region shows itself. The Visovac Monastery adds a quiet, almost contemplative contrast. Later, Skradinski Buk waterfall sets the striking high point of a day on which water is constantly in motion.

Hvar with a View
On Hvar you begin at a relaxed pace at Pokonji dol Beach, where the sea sets the tone for the day. The Franciscan Monastery then brings in a calmer, historical note. At Španjola Fortress, Hvar at the latest, the island world lies wide and clear at your feet.

Dubrovnik and Lokrum
With Lokrum, Dubrovnik starts out unexpectedly green and relaxed, almost like a brief counterpoint to the stone old town. Back in the city, the way leads to the Porporela, where sea, walls and horizon come together beautifully. In the Rector's Palace and at The Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, Dubrovnik then shows its dignified, historic side.

On the Walls of Dubrovnik
For the finale, Tvrđava Lovrjenac / Lovrjenac Fortress makes a strong statement right away and shows Dubrovnik's fortified side. Through the Pile Gate and up onto the Walls of Dubrovnik, the city becomes a grand backdrop of stone, sea and red roofs. On the Stradun and in the Old Town, the trip winds down right in the lively heart of Dubrovnik.
