Day 1 · Amsterdam
Windmills and Old Town Lanes
To start, you head to Zaanse Schans, where wooden houses, water and windmills immediately set a different pace. Back in the city, the Jordaan shows you Amsterdam's laid-back, winding side before the Anne Frank House gives the day a more reflective turn. Afterwards, Negen Straatjes is the perfect way to wind down: small, charming and ideal for simply drifting a little further through the canal quarters.

The day starts at the NEMO Science Museum, where Amsterdam feels modern, curious and playful. With Ons' Lieve Heer op Solder you step into a completely different world: hidden, historic and surprisingly intimate in the middle of the city. Around Dam Square things get livelier, before you let Amsterdam sink in one more time from a distance at the A'DAM Lookout.

Art and Canal Calm
At the Van Gogh Museum you begin up close to the colour, brushwork and personality of an artist whose works most people only know from books. Afterwards the Rijksmuseum adds a different accent to the day with its sheer size and range. With the quiet Begijnhof and the Canals of Amsterdam everything ends more gently: less museum, more city feeling, water and evening light.
