Milan & Lake Como in 4 Days
This route leads you through a Milan of wide squares, quiet church interiors and big art moments – and at the end sets a glittering contrast with Lake Como. You stroll from the green of the Parco Sempione to the courtyards of the Castello Sforzesco, stand on the roof above the city and keep diving into neighbourhoods with an atmosphere all their own. In between wait arcades, cobblestones and views that set the rhythm of the trip.

What to expect
Look forward to varied days with urban walks, museum and church visits and a clear alternation between dense old-town areas and open squares. In Milan many stops follow each other neatly; on the fifth day, train and lakeside town add a slightly different rhythm.
Day 1 · Milan
Green, castle and Brera
To start, you walk at ease through the Parco Sempione and immediately feel you've arrived in the city. Right after, the Sforzesco Castle shows Milan's fortified, historic side before things quieten down in the Basilica of San Simpliciano. Later the Pinacoteca di Brera pulls the focus fully onto art and onto the special flair of a neighbourhood that feels made for strolling.

Old Milan and a view from above
The day begins in the Basilica of Sant'Ambrogio, where Milan's history becomes tangible in brick, columns and clear forms. Via the Merchants Square you head right into the historic centre, where the city feels tighter, busier and more alive. At the Piazza del Duomo everything opens up – and with The roof milano the day ends high above, with a view over rooftops, towers and street axes.

Arcades, stage, evening arch
In the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II the morning starts under glass and iron, with elegant sweep and plenty of Milanese big-city feeling. Then the Teatro alla Scala sets a cultural accent that carries weight even from outside. Later you let yourself drift through Brera before the Arco della Pace gives the day an open, almost ceremonial closing note.

Fashion and the Duomo
The morning in the Quadrilatero della moda shows Milan at its precise, style-conscious best. Then the Milan Cathedral, one of the trip's great landmarks, takes centre stage – powerful, rich in detail and impressive from every angle. Around the Duomo di Milano and the Piazza del Duomo you finally feel the pulse of the city at its most direct.

Lake Como for the finale
With Bellagio, the trip to Lake Como begins light and picturesque, between water, lanes and the play of closeness and distance. In I Giardini di Villa Melzi things grow calmer once more, with a view of landscape and garden art that feels quite different from the days in Milan. Back in Como, the Cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta - Duomo di Como and the Piazza Cavour, Como set an atmospheric closing note before you move on via the Como S. Giovanni Train Station.
